The Training provides an overview of the Microsoft Excel training conducted for MBA students by the Department of Management Studies. The training was conducted by MR KS SHINE, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies on 18/11/2022. The objective of the training was to equip the students with essential Excel skills that are valuable for their future careers in business and management.
The training program covered a wide range of Excel topics tailored to the needs of MBA students, including:
Spreadsheet Basics: Students were introduced to the basic features and functionalities of Excel, including creating, formatting, and navigating spreadsheets. Emphasis was placed on data entry best practices and efficient spreadsheet organization.
Data Analysis and Visualization: Advanced Excel functions for data analysis, such as sorting, filtering, and conditional formatting, were taught to enable students to make informed business decisions based on data insights. They also learned how to create dynamic charts and graphs to effectively visualize data.
Financial Analysis: The training included financial modeling techniques using Excel, including the calculation of financial ratios, forecasting, and scenario analysis. Students were guided on using Excel's built-in financial functions and formulas to perform financial analysis tasks.
Data Manipulation with Formulas: Students learned essential formulas and functions, including SUM, AVERAGE, COUNT, IF, VLOOKUP, and PMT. These formulas allowed them to perform calculations, automate tasks, and manipulate data efficiently.
Data Validation and Protection: The training covered data validation techniques to ensure data accuracy and integrity. Students learned how to set up validation rules and apply data restrictions. They were also introduced to Excel's security features for protecting sensitive information.
Throughout the training program, students were evaluated through quizzes, hands-on exercises, and real-world business case studies. The assessments aimed to assess their understanding of Excel concepts and their ability to apply Excel skills in practical scenarios. Students consistently demonstrated a strong comprehension of the training material and showcased their ability to use Excel effectively for business analysis.
